I spent an hour at the Heugh Lighthouse Built in 1927 and is located on the Historic Headland of Hartlepool .
I started on 40m but conditions were very poor and only worked a few contacts and these included GM0VWP/M on the Isle of Arran in Scotland , So I decided to call over to the 20m Band and started calling CQ on 14.255 and within 5 mins of calling I generated a small pile up and worked the following:-
IK1GPG , ES1IP , DD5MA , RV3LO , DL0SOP , OE3KLU , DG0DE , SA2CLU , LZ4GL , DK6HD , DL7LX , DF3IS , DL5JK , LA3VJA and PA0TDO/P Operating from his car and also 2E1ADT/M in Truro Cornwall. Not bad for a hours operating but sadly the rain started so had to pack the Yaesu FT-817 away and the SOTA Linked Dipole 20/40 and 6m Pole.
I am looking forward to the ILLW this August with a new Lighthouse to activate over the weekend , 73 Carl 2E0HPI
