When were you first licensed? May 16, 2013.

How did you become interested in radio? Because my husband thought this is something that I would enjoy. So he signed me up for the hamradio course with him. He didn’t realised what he was doing… :-) Now he has to wait for his turn in the shack.

Favorite radio activities and locations: Portable low power and QRP, Particularly at the beach and in our country soon-to-be house, which we call #ruraldx.

Future hobby plans or goals: Well, I’d like to do more contests. I did the CQWW SSB last year and I Inés Baptista YV4IVB Kayak Maritime Mobileloved it. I’ve got to dust off up my CW, specially for QRP. Do more IOTA’s activations and do more digital modes.

Member of any radio organizations or clubs: I’m a member of a DXpeditions group called “Grupo DX Caracas”. #GDXC #YW5Z #YW6X

Describe some of your favorite field radio experiences: Well, I had a very gratifying moment doing QRP in an island, I made a pileup working with a homebrewed antenna, 5 watts of power with a Yaesu FT-817. The best contact was with Finland (recvd 5/7).
